In addition to my academic studies I created a YouTube channel called Games Interface, which supports the growing interest in User Interface design across the game industry. The purpose of the channel was to provide a database of examples from existing games, which included researching the development teams and crediting them.
Being competent in video editing, I upload videos for Main Menu Systems, Credit Screens, Character Creations, and Card Pack Openings. I also had a UI Discussion series where I looked at a game and discussed it in more depth with some peers. This included looking at aspects like art style, typography, colour theory, player psychology, utility, and user experience. |
Games Interface is also on Twitter, where I used the platform to interact with developers about uploads on the YouTube Channel regarding games they worked on. I would also search for and share UI Jobs that I found available across the industry. Furthermore, I discovered that Reddit had no Game UI subreddit so I set one up and periodically post useful links for articles, resources, videos, jobs, and portfolios. |
